One and the Same
Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, “I am a warrior.”
Joel 3:10
When I read this verse, I thought of a Möbius strip. For those non-nerds out there, a Möbius strip is a surface with only one side. You can make one by twisting a strip of paper and taping it together; you now have a single surface you could follow all the way around the loop without crossing over a boundary.
Sometimes I feel like there are two versions of me; the version I am and the version I want to be. On one side is the weak version, consumed by fears, worries, and anger. On the other is the version remade by Christ. However, I am not a coin or a sheet of paper. I am a Möbius strip. Both those versions exist in the same space. God is not waiting just out of reach, He is here with me in this moment. When I am weak, He is here to make me strong. When I am afraid, He is here to bring me courage.
