A Reminder in Troubled Times
The last few weeks have posed an almost insurmountable obstacle for me to continue reading my Bible. After being in a car accident that left me a little shaken up, I did not have the emotional energy to pick up my Bible for several days. Days turned into weeks and I realized that life was sweeping by without pause. I could not seem to find a few moments to set my feet underneath me.
My mood was unsettled at best and to be honest many times I was irritable. I was frustrated with God for the difficulties I was facing, and frustrated with circumstances which seemed to be conspiring against me. Fortunately, God brought my wife and a good friend alongside of me and I was able to repent. I am trying to get back on the horse one day at a time, because now more than ever I need to be encouraged.
As more and more things shut down in the community, I urge you to keep plugging yourself in to the word. I know as much as anyone how difficult that is, but I also know how unsettled I feel when I do not feel connected to God. If you can call a friend and talk about what God is saying to you, great! Send an e-mail or write a letter. However you can, reach out to community. We are not designed to be isolated from God or isolated from each other.
